PP was no doubt praying every night that Justin would remain as Liberal leader. That was the only way he could get his hands on the prize. And then suddenly, it all dramatically and unexpectedly slipped away when the Liberal caucus told Trudeau the facts of life.
It's ironic to see Conservative MPs doing less than nothing to improve our party's fortunes in the polls when the clique around Pierre, no doubt with his enthusiastic encouragement, led the charge to give Erin O'Toole the heave-ho. Remember those guys, then known as sixty percent of caucus?
It's beyond pathetic to witness how such a person as PP has been able to emasculate, control and manipulate caucus into putting up with him for one more day, much less weeks and months. Every time PP opens his mouth, the party's electoral prospects sink even further. No one in caucus actually believes that this guy can win an election. Ever. But they're great at going through the motions and spinning their wheels as we await the late fall federal election, which will finally rid us of PP as leader. A true blessing is in the offing.
Pierre needs to face facts: now that his foil is gone, PP has inherited the mantle as the most unpopular politician. It isn't even close. Doug Ford comes off like an angel next to this guy. All that is left is a mouth that roars and preaches endlessly about the unsung virtues of PP's personal political philosophy. Well, here's a news flash for you, Pierre: Canadians haven't fallen for and won't be buying your BS in the next election, no matter how far lightweight Carney sinks his government's fortunes. Yours is a sad, pathetic and ultimately a journey to political oblivion. And thanks to caucus, the membership and other assorted cowards, the rest of us will get to join you in your quest toward disaster and political irrelevance. Great going, CPC. His bed has been made, and PP will, undoubtedly, get to lie in it as soon as this fall rolls around.
