Ukraine: Canada's Prime Ministers Must Unite.

I think now is the time for our former prime ministers to act in unison: they, like the rest of us are seeing the blood flow every day in Ukraine.

Dare I say that as former PMs, Clark, Mulroney, Campbell, Chrétien, Martin and Harper have a special obligation to rally the country to Ukraine's side.

It's my hope that each of them will speak with the others regularly and hopefully reach a unanimous decision, or at least a consensus, in favour of military intervention against Putin's Russia.

Ukraine: It's Good versus Putin EVIL.

If the United States will not move militarily, then it's up to the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to come to the aid of Europe, just like we did in the last two World Wars. This is a time for leadership and statecraft to free the world of the Putin menace. The Ukrainian people are waiting and desperate for our direct military intervention.

Someone, anyone, will have to break NATO’s solidarity of troop non-intervention NOW and come to Ukraine’s aid.

The Putin demon-seed says he’ll nuke any western nation that comes to Ukraine’s aid militarily. My response: so be it and expect a retaliatory nuclear strike that will quite literally wipe Russia off the face of the Earth if Putin does that!

It all boils down to this: like I said before, NATO can fight Putin now, or fight him later, after he’s enslaved Ukraine. The Baltic States are next and in short order.

Fight You Cowardly Bastards, Fight!

Zelensky is begging NATO's heads of state and government to fast-track membership. But they are too scared. Fucking cowards.

We should be ordering general mobilisation across NATO, period.

The Anti-Christ wants to reconstitute the Soviet Union by force and that's exactly what Putin will do.

So, find some balls and take him on now! Zelensky is brave and dignified. The rest of us are nothing more than pathetic losers and Chamberlains...

Remember that The Baltic States will be next.

When Putin Shows You Who He Is...

Is a full blown Ukraine invasion in the cards? Sure looks that way. Russian troops and local militias have been on Ukrainian soil for the past eight years and now Putin's forces are in these so-called newly Russian recognized independent republics of Donetsk and Luhansk.

So...it's not too much of a leap to expect Russian forces to invade and ultimately occupy the rest of Ukraine, which they will surely do.

And that's when the rubber will finally hit the road for NATO members. Sanctions, even unprecedented ones, are all good and well but they are no deterrent nor sufficient enough to make Putin blink, much less back down.

That means the local resistence will quickly have to take the form of guerilla warfare and that, at best, to use a Rumsfeldism, risks to be a long, hard, slog.

And then there's the elephant in the room that Biden and the rest of them don't want to talk about, namely, that Ukraine along with Australia, Finland, Georgia, Jordan and Sweden are NATO Enchanced Opportunities Partners. Put another way, either that means something important or it means nothing.

Seems to me that NATO will have to quickly take a stand otherwise we play into Putin's hands and all of us who are sentient already know what that would mean in Round Two for the NATO member Baltic states. Because, as sure as I'm breathing, that's where this Russian incursion is going next. Make no mistake, if Putin goes there, that means all out war with NATO, period. But if Putin got away with Ukraine, won't he think he can get away with it a second time? Precisely.

That means NATO has to quickly hold the line in Ukraine, if an all out invasion happens. In short, it will be red-line time and we won't have any other practical choice, unless we're prepared to permit and concede an eventual Russian domination over much of former Soviet Europe. Yup, it is that simple. Fight now, or inevitably fight later over a far larger expanse of Russian occupied territory. There is no other credible way out. Putin has already seen to that.

Freeland And Ukraine.

It's no news flash to any of you that I long ago ceased to be a Freeland fan but I want to say to her, her family and friends that all of us, regardless of party and political position are with her and thinking and praying for the safety and well being of her loved ones during these extremely tense and trying times. May God protect Ukraine and all its people.

MacDonald: Please Cross The Floor.

After all, you'd be a perfect fit with this Prime Minister. Somhow, some way, the two of you have got to be related.

Truckers And THEIR Treason.

As we head into week three, blockades continue and lawlessness doesn't take a holiday. I don't know what some truckers are drinking or smoking but they're basically clueless: THEY don't get to decide who's prime minister or who are members of a given federal government. The collective arrogance of this lot and the nutbar quality of it all.

Some of them want to put Trudeau on trial and according to them, they have a divine right of kings to decide when mandates go. Who elected them to anything? So, in short, why don't they simply fuck off and go home.

And if that doesn't work, throw the lot of them who refuse to disperse in jail and let them cool their clearly deluded heels in the slammer for a month or two. Cause sorry bozos, mob rule won't take hold in Canada. Don't like the management at the federal, provincial, territorial or local level, then get off your ass in the next election and vote them out.

So...you can go quietly into the night, finally, or the cops and the army can crack heads. Either way, as sure as I'm breathing, you'll go. It's your choice. Do you still feel lucky?

Showdown At The Bergen Corral?

Look, I've always been a Bergen admirer, even though we didn't always agree on policy, I felt that Candice had natural leadership qualities and that she would make at least a good leader. I still think that. She's been chosen as interim and IMHO, the party is in good hands.

Now, let's address the matter of nameless cowards who've already begun sniping about her and disrupting her leadership even before she barely got out of the gate. Let's call a spade a spade: those leaks are coming from at least one MP and that person or persons need to be found, identified with proof and then summarily tossed from caucus with no chance of ever being integrated again at a later date. In short, you burn the leader now and you pay the price forever. Let that person be the next one to get the heave-ho treatment.

As for Candice, she needs to know that as interim, she must only go with winning issues that increase support among Conservatives, the unaffiliated and others for the party. Any issue that divides up the country and puts all of us against each other is to be avoided like the plague. Why do I say that? Because I know Liberals, especially Trudeau Liberals, and nothing would give them more delight than to see our party divided and fighting with each other under an interim as HimselfTM comes up with a pretext to go into an early election against Bergen. All of us need to be mindful of that because it is a distinct possibility, strategically speaking.

So, Candice, if you want to grow this party, grow our support among the unaffiliated and previously non-voting Canadians, then drop the truckers and do it now. Otherwise, this party will die from the death of a thousand cuts and handoff to the new leader in an incredibly weak position. So, in the final analysis, it's Bergen's choice and hers alone. I'm for building bridges, expanding and growing the party. Hope she is for that as well. I want her legacy to be the strongest possible handoff that's possible to the new leader. I want the baton passed off with Bergen strength, not Bergen weakness. Like I said before, only Candice can cement her legacy as leader and only she can provide the initial rocket fuel that will likely propel this party straight into power after the selection of a new leader. That must be, and likely will be the Bergen legacy.

O'Toole: Stop The Hemorrhaging.

Sir, have you no common sense? Resign already. Don't put the party and the membership through another day of this. Just go, for heaven's sake, go.
