You Really Want To Know What I Think Of Ford?

God bless him. Right on. Keep taking the battle to that POS. Doug does, while Danielle and Scott are trying to understand the definition of guts in their personal dictionary...

It's not the WesternWhimpsDynamicDuoTM who will move the needle in these negotiations. It's people like Ford and Kinew.

Canada: these ‘Trump supporters’ live in a parallel universe.

I can’t get over the way these people think. They keep harping on about how easy it would be for Trump to ‘invade’ and ‘take over’ Canada, as if there were any basis in reality for such an idea. Even a madman like Trump could never pull it off, given that the world’s most professional army is governed by laws that oblige the officer corps to refuse to obey an illegal or immoral order. Wake up, you bunch of dopes.

Much of our prosperity in this country comes down to good old-fashioned Canadian hard work. And, yes, part of it also stems from the privileged trade relationship this country has enjoyed with the United States since the signing of the FTA in the 1980s.

But to take that as a basis for claiming that Canadians and Canada have an obligation to accept any trade agreement proposed by the Americans is ridiculous. Genuine trade negotiations are an exchange based on mutual respect, trust and reciprocal benefits. In other words, a win-win agreement.

Anyone capable of setting aside their own political agenda, for even a second, will recognize that this proposed agreement may have been better than what most other countries got, but it wasn't a win-win. It was either that or nothing, and so Canada said no.

So, sorry, because Uncle Donald thinks we should accept it doesn’t mean we have to. Trade is a two-way street, and just as we will suffer from the lack of an agreement, so will the average American. That is precisely the point of saying ‘no’: to make the other side pay until they come up with an offer that seems at least fair to both sides – something Trump hasn’t done and, frankly, won’t do unless the American business lobby takes him to the woodshed.

So… to those who, reflexively, expect Carney to accept whatever is put before him – and I include Smith in that group – I simply say: move to the United States to be as happy as a fish in water under Trump. You claim that we have open borders, massive and uncontrolled immigration, record crime rates, and that foreigners are better off in this country than Canadians; if all that is true, then go on, leave.

Then there’s the constant yammering about the need to go to an immediate election. Of course, go ahead, call one, but don’t be surprised when you find out, once again, that a majority of voters don't share your worldview as an admirer and staunch apologist for the United States. Call an election. Fine. But don’t shoot yourselves in the head when Carney returns with a majority of over 200 seats, because that’s exactly what will happen. And when the Liberals win, don’t hesitate to leave for good. You’ll end up happier eventually, as American citizens. You’ll fit in perfectly there.

And for those of us who’ll be staying in Canada and who are definitely not Liberal supporters, I have just one small ask: when you leave, please, pretty please, take Pierre Poilièvre with you. That way, the CPC might finally win an election sometime during the next five years.

To conclude, so long and best of luck.

Trump Offered The Best Of The Worst.

And geniuses like Danielle and Scott wanted us to just lap it up?

Meanwhile, Greer comes off as your typical used car salesman. How reassuring and inspiring toward a future agreement. Screw this. At minimum, for a while.

Carney May Not Like...

what he finds in his own tent. Just saying. It means trouble for the Liberals, when they already have enough with Trump.

Let's see if Blanchard is on it.

The Next Question: Who Bought Off Legacy Media And Why?

That's what we have to find out. I don't have to agree with independent media; I just have to defend their right to free speech. Right-wing, left-wing. Who cares, to quote Carney.

This feels really big, and when it blows, it will be memorable and, more importantly, seriously consequential.

This is Deliberate And Coordinated: Another One Is Attacking Fight For Canada.

This isn't a coincidence. This is an outright war by the powerful against the likes of independent media. This needs to go to court, and they deserve to suffer severe monetary consequences for what they're doing. And now, the elephant in the room: who's pulling the strings?

Ha! Smith Says She Is "Deeply Disappointed."

Well, look in the fucking mirror. Who was that person who ruled out, from the get-go, using energy as leverage against the Orange Menace?

Thanks To Smith's Bungling, We Now Need Harper More Than Ever!

People tell me that Alberta is already gone, that the vote is but a mere formality. If that's true, then only Harper can save this country. We need him back yesterday.

Trump Impeachment: Why The Third Time Will Be The Charm.

In brief, Trump is a blight on America, a scourge on the country and a national disgrace. And that's just for starters, given his cognitive decline, irrational behaviour, siege mentality and purported enemies' list. He's the biggest future threat to United States national security. Add to that his enthusiastic and highly questionable alliances with American foes and enemies, and that necessitates that he be removed as president at the first possible opportunity. So, I will make you a prediction: that after the midterms, no matter whether the Democrats take the Senate or not, Trump will be impeached again by the House and removed from office at trial by the Senate, an historic first.

Donald Trump is destroying America one day at a time. He needs to go for the country's sake and ultimate survival.

Northern Perspective and The National Telegraph: Deliberate Intimidation Won't Win.

By all means, go to court and fight this double standard where they can do whatever they want while the rest of us cannot. Some people think it's acceptable to try to drain others financially while they have seemingly endless resources.

Well, screw them! It's not OK to use clips as a pretext for something else. Trying to silence different viewpoints should never be on anyone's agenda.

And most importantly, ask for COSTS so they can pay your legal bills when they lose. Because they will lose.

Smith Is Crazy!

She's doing exactly what she shouldn't do. Clearly, momentum is already with Leave. Remain leads in the polls, but support is soft and likely includes some non-voters. Leave will get their vote out at 99%. Remain is bound to have voting challenges, and now Smith encourages Leave even more with her commitment to a binding referendum...it's like handing out candy to Leave when she says she supports a united Canada. I still think that Leave is going to win the first referendum. Now, Smith has gummed up the works for Remain, but good. Kind of says a lot about the internal state of her leadership. She's quaking in her boots and thinks this will save her job. Don't think so.

What a terrible blow to national unity.

Smith Reveals Plans for an AB Binding Separation Referendum.

From The Tyee:

CUSMA: Still Have A Soft Spot For Ralph.

He still got it. A true gentleman.

CUSMA: Now It Gets Fun As The American Business Lobby Lights A Fire Under Trump's Ass.

This is going to be epic watching the business and trade lobby tear a strip off Trump. The pressure will be pressure-cooker level. Add to that the Deep State that conducts domestic and foreign policy independent of Congress and the President. This is going to be great watching Trump burn.

CUSMA: There Are Some Things That No One Can Say Publicly About Our Businesses And The Maximum Profit Motive.

But we can think it.

Trump envia Greer ao Brasil.

Não deixe que Trump leve a melhor sobre você. Mantenha-se firme diante dessa ameaça.

Ford Let Trump Have It.

Just wonderful. He said Trump [a bully] would steal your lunch money on the first day, your toque on the second and your running shoes on the third day. In short, Trump can't be trusted. Loving it!

CUSMA: Watch Trump Scrap It With Six Months' Legal Notice.

Imagine how jealous Trump must be to see Carney meet the moment. The POS must be seething.

Carney: Serves Me Up Some Crow.

This announcement and press conference proves that he isn't a lightweight after all. Damn.

Pierre Says Canadians Have To Stand United.

Bingo!

CUSMA-USMCA: It Went From Carney's Fight To CANADA'S Fight.

Fellow Conservatives, better get that in their heads. If they don't, our polling numbers will crater historically. Our party must back Carney 1000%. End of story.

Jivani's Pal Doesn't Like PP.

Vance called Pierre a "Non-Entity." Loving it.

Fuck You, Lutnick.

Well said.

CUSMA : Negotiations Collapse.

This is great for Carney! Obviously, it's the second best scenario. He will say that the government kept their word: no deal is better than a bad deal. And that's all that matters. And now the Liberals will go to an election and win. So long, Pierre Poilièvre.

Friday, 21 August 2026

CUSMA: I Agree With Freeland.

Permanent tariffs are devastating. It's a big loss, no matter how Carney and LeBlanc try to slice it. And then Trump adds quotas just to add insult to injury.

But let's face it: Canada is getting what we so richly deserve because we refused to use our best leverage: oil and gas, electricity and hydro power. We negotiated with one hand tied behind our back thanks to some premiers.

So in the end, it is what it is and that isn't good for Canada.

Carney Will Do The Job For You.

Dear Conservative Caucus of Cowards,

I imagine that we all want an election over the alleged trade deal. But your reason is not mine. You see this deal as a watershed moment for PP and the CPC and of course you're dreaming.

I want the election so we can pay for our mortal sin by losing 60 seats in that election to the Liberals. Carney's Super Majority will do what cowardly fellow Conservatives refuse to do: finally get rid of Pierre as leader. So bring on the election so Carney can do our dirty work for us by cleaning PP's clock.

Hopefully Harper will agree to replace this dud so that Canada can be saved from disaster.

CUSMA: Ford Ain't Talking.

That's not good. I think Canadians will be upset and pissed off at the concessions when the deal is announced. I doubt it will end up as a net positive for Carney and the government.

VBlogs Are So Ordinary And Predictable.

All the pro-Trump ones think this agreement is the best thing since sliced bread. Ditto, for all the pro-Carney ones. And all the pro-Poilièvre ones think it's an unmitigated disaster.

No one seems to have credibility anymore...

When Trump Says It's Great.

That necessarily means that it likely is a disaster for Canada...

CUSMA - USMCA.

No substantive and firm details yet. But knowing POS, no current tariffs will be abolished or reduced to zero. None. Just wait and see.

Bessent Just Choked And Panicked.

QE is back like a fiend from Hell. Japan and China dumping Treasuries. Government buying up 200%, meaning 4 Billion. There goes the Bond and Stock markets.

What Is This About Bots?

I mean, what kind of loser would deliberately buy the so-called services of sleazebags to go in comment sections on websites and VBlogs and spew written pollution?

Has any of you heard of this before? Can anyone stoop any lower than this? We're talking one crackpot puppy here.

Hopefully, the law of the universe will turn around and bite this turd but good. People like that should never be in political office positions. These types definitely have a screw loose.

PP: The By-election Curse.

One guess as to who will be going down when we lose all of those ridings. No wonder CPC MPs are already shitting their pants... potentially 60 seats down! They'd rather see PP in the unemployment line rather than each of them. Ain't selfish self-centered interest fun?

It's no longer if. It's now when for the guy preferred as PM by a whopping 18 percent. Can't wait for Harper's return as leader.

The AOC Pivot: Is It Still Progressive, Mainstream Or Just Politics?

How I admire AOC's political chops. Her radar antenna is right on, and she senses where the country is and isn't. Put succinctly, progressive can win nationally, but progressive can't, even at the top of the Democratic ticket. AOC knows how reflexively moderate to conservative the country is. So, she's moving slowly centrist, at least according to appearances.

This isn't about egg freezing or drowning the rich in a sea of taxes. It's about electability at a higher level and, more importantly, strengthening the donor base. Put another way, to whom much is given, much is expected, and AOC ain't about to screw that up.

Then comes the question of what's next: the obvious choice is a run for president in 2028, but that's likely not the prize she has in mind. For now,  concentrating on a future Senate run seems the more realistic choice.  Or perhaps to put it in more vulgar terms, is she about to primary Schumer? That would surprise me, but no question certain parts of the DC establishment already want Schumer gone, you know, the way of Pelosi. It's that thing about passing on the baton.

I like AOC's pre-positioning, for something. We know what they say about killing them with kindness -- and smarts. AOC has already got that one nailed down pat.

UK: Nigel Wins.

Clacton-on-Sea has spoken, which means Farage wins in more ways than one. Now, he can rant about a parliamentary witch hunt instigated by his enemies. Sound familiar? Can you say slap on the wrist in the offing, and then the circus will move on.

This is where Burnham has to be Farage's match. He needs to best him and do it quickly, what with polls being described charitably as fluid. One week it's Labour's game, the next week belongs to Reform UK. So, Andy has got his work cut out for him. He would be foolish to underestimate Farage, not to mention his staying power. Reform may be wobbly now, but they're hardly on the ropes. Burnham needs to keep that top of mind.  Reform remains formidable and, as such, remains a considerable political threat.

Putin Only Has Nine Lives. He Would Be Smart To Go Now.

How ironic that his war has badly turned on him. Russia couldn't take Ukraine, and from their point of view, what a disgrace that is, and it reflects terribly on the guy who amounts to a one-man show.

Ukraine has taken the war to the Russian heartland, not to mention Moscow. Putin would do well to call it quits and go now. Who can he really trust? Not his generals, not those around him and especially not the oligarchs who call the financial tune. Once Putin is seen as working against their interests, it becomes a hot time in the old town tonight. Putin should remember that the better part of valour remains discretion. He should go while the going is still good.

CUSMA-USMCA: I've Had It.

The Globe and Mail has reported that Trump wants first access to critical minerals, oil and gas and a full purchase of 88 F-35s. He wants the removal of counter-tariffs on non-USMCA-compliant American-made cars. And then there's dairy, alcohol, etc.

Trump's 50%  tariffs on Canada come into force on Wednesday. So, the Canadian strategy should be to just walk away and turn the screws on Trump: for each 50% tariff, Canada should enact a 75% counter-tariff.

Trump wants to play hardball with Canada throwing in the towel while the Americans make absolutely no meaningful concessions? No FW! Just pick up our chips and fly back to Ottawa. Negotiating with the bad-faith Americans is a waste of time.

There is no reasoning with this imbecile.

Get The Hell Out Of AI Data Centers Before It Blows.

The excrement doesn't want to be the bag holders for billions. So, they're downloading it on affiliated or corporate-owned entities. Read insurance companies. But it gets worse: other future bag holders include private equity and private credit clients such as pension funds, money managers, mutual funds and assorted idiots in the financial sector such as regional banks.

And are the rating agencies downrating those holding private credit? Nope, not at all. Same crap as in 2008. And the DOJ won't be charging anyone this time either.

It's all hype because financing isn't close to being investment-grade, the power grid can't handle the future capacity demand of data centers, and most people in at least several states don't want a data center in their backyard.

It's a private credit Ponzi scheme coming to a pension fund near you.

CPC: DRAFT Harper!

If you give a damn about beating Carney then get the word out that Harper has to replace PP in order that we can win.

Talk to your MP, Senator, party officials and anyone else preoccupied with how to win against the Liberals.

We have a country to save and only Harper can accomplish that. So, get to work and be prepared to force Pierre out if he won't go voluntarily.

Winning isn't everything but it's the only thing that matters.

My Conservative Brethren: Desperately Cherry-Picking Polls.

Too funny. Let's keep it simple: we're donedone, done until PP is gone.

That's why I can't wait for Harper's return as leader. Saving Canada will be the order of the day when SH comes back as leader. And then voters will reward the CPC handsomely. A huge majority, even larger than Mulroney's back-to-back ones. Can't wait!
