Carney's Poaching of CPC MPs.

I should have seen this coming, but I didn't: poached MPs represent the center right, the place where Carney is most comfortable. He wants nothing to do with stealing NDP MPs. Will he pull a rabbit out of the hat and recruit one more CPC MP? Yes, I think so. Don't forget that he would already be at three if his plans hadn't gone astray at the last minute, thanks to the hard-charging Scheer and company.

Pierre has nothing to worry about related to the leadership review vote: he's already got that one in the bag. But this is much different: get one more CPC MP to cross and the Liberals will finally have their precious majority, and you know what that means. No chance of defeating the government for at least the next three to four years. In short, Pierre will be in for a long wait before getting another chance to win an election. Will MPs, caucus and party members be willing to wait that long with the current leader still in place? Likely Yes, but maybe No. It will depend on the internal intensity of the lust for power.
